Learned an awful lot of the remarkable folk who braved physical hardships galore (traveling from London to Australia in the latter part of the 19th century). AntiSemitism, prevalent during these trying periods, was overcome as well,owing to stouthearted, undying ambition and family ties. So did the "tricks of the trade" of the pedlars. Reading about the same thing happening in America was also fascinating.
